KitKit Longcanaya is Little Miss Philippines 2019
Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines has made the dreams of little girls come true since 1984. Another young lady is added to the long list when CJ Keith “KitKit” Longcanaya was crowned the Little Miss Philippines for 2019.
Kitkit, who hails from Parañaque City, bested 10 other hopefuls for the title in the Grand Finals last July 20, 2019. Her talent, smarts and spunk got the thumbs-up from a lineup of A-list judges that include Daphne Oseña Paez; Atty. Patricia Leticia Syson, MD; Lilian Ng Gui; Patricia Ann Roque; Cristalle Bello; Pauleen Luna, and; Michael V.
KitKit recited a poem titled “Tutubi” for her Talent Portion that had a surprising and funny twist at the end. During the Question and Answer portion, Dabarkads Host Maine Mendoza mentioned that KitKit wanted to become a beauty queen when she grows up, just like her idol 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Grey. Dabarkads Host Jose asked the 3 year old what she and Catriona had in common. Kitkit replied, “Maganda po.”
“Maganda ka ba?” Jose challenged, Kitkit answered yes, her father told her so.
Aside from KitKit’s taking home the title, Althea Ruedas of Antipolo City was first runner-up while Ysabella Espinosa of Bacoor City, Cavite, got second runner-up honors.
Past contestants of Little Miss Philippines were present in the event which also served as an LMP reunion. The LMP alumnae shared stories which were testaments that they will forever be Eat Bulaga’s Little Misses.
Since 1984, winners and participants of Little Miss Philippines have gone on to create careers not only in the entertainment industry but in other fields as well, like the Little Miss Philippines 2019 Judges: Little Miss Philippines 1990 grand Finalist Atty. Patricia Syson, MD who is both a lawyer and doctor, and Little Miss Metro Manila 1992, television broadcaster Patricia Ann Roque.
Meanwhile, a number of LMP Alumnae have made a name for themselves in the entertainment industry. The list includes: 1984 winner Glaiza Heradura and runner-up Gladys Reyes-Sommereux; Little Miss Philippines 1987 Runner-up Ice Seguerra and finalist Jessa Zaragoza, LMP 1990 finalist Lady Lee, Camille Prats and Maybelyn dela Cruz; LMP 1995 contestant Pauleen Luna-Sotto; LMP 1998 1st runner-up Julie Ann San Jose; LMP 2000 pageant 4th runner-up Kim Domingo; LMP 2005 contestant Ella Cruz; and LMP 2012 winner Ryzza Mae Dizon.
Little Miss Philippines 2019 is a limited engagement only and is part of the 40th anniversary celebration of Eat Bulaga.
